Week 3 saw the arrival of Tony from Farnborough Hants, along with sons Greg and Sean, and grandson Danny aged 9. They enjoyed a week of mostly fine weather with the rain holding off for the most part and with some fine sunshine mixed in. 32 fish were taken for a total weight of 647lbs. Best fish out were 38-15 and 30-04 mirrors to Tony - who fished days only, a 30-00 mirror to Greg and a 28-10 common to Sean. All 3 anglers beating their personal bests during the week (Tony's previous best fish was about 5lbs ...!) Also lots of 20's taken this week.
Successful tactics were small mesh PVA bags with pellets and boilies, Coswold Baits UFO fished as a single, or snowman style with a pineapple pop-up accounting for a lot of the fish, corn and pellet hookbaits also accounting for a fair share of captures.
Water temperature is starting to creep up now at around 16-17C, but the fish still have not spawned, so the chance of a very heavy fish is running high!
Little Danny had lots of fun feeding the goats and chickens, running errands for Dad, Greg and watching DVD's in the gite !
