Vallee Lake 1 news
What an awesome week (14th - 21st May '10) 60lb+ mirror bottoming scales, 59lb mirror, 58lbs 12oz, a 50lb 12oz mirror and 7 forties to 49lbs ... 20 x thirties to 39lbs and a 49lb sturgeon.
Richard Humphreys fishing swim 1 produced an incredable 60lbs+ mirror bottoming his scales together with a 49lbmirror, 43lbs common, 48lb sturgeon, 39lb 13oz , 37lbs, 38lbs, 36lbs, 34lbs, 33lbs, 31lbs, 26lbs, 26lbs, 23lbs Mirrors.
Matt Page on swim 4 getting wet for a fabulous 59lb mirror plus 2 x 47lbs, 43lbs, 37lbs & 24lbs Mirrors..fishing slack lines with VL special bolies with Matt's Dad having a 43lb and 26lbs mirror.
Nick Quilter and Lee Richardson in swim 9 had a stunning golden 50lb9oz mirror, 46lbs and 8 x 30s to 38lb 12oz and 4 20s.
Giljs Bourderz, a first time Belgium angler, and girlfried doing a short weekend trip came away stunned with a beautiful 58lb 12oz mirror caught down the margin fishing swim 5.
  
Lac de Laneuville
This is easily the best start to the season at Lac de Laneuville with the numbers of 30's coming out each week outstripping 20's every week. The most fantastic thing is the number of 40lbs coming out and, of course, we now have a brand new lake record - a stunning 53lb 9oz common coming out to the Hannon party (15th - 22nd May '10) Congratulations to them. This lake really is proving to be superb with accommodation to match.
  
Lake Juvanze
Lake Juvanze continues to produce well. The party on from 15th May banked 31 carp including 49lb 11oz mirror, 5 x thirties and 23 x 20's. The weather has been hot the past couple of weeks and they have begun to spawn this week. The party on this week have done well considering this still banking a mirror of 49lbs and a common of 38lbs in 32 degrees of heat.
   
Poplars Lake
Dave Lawson from Southport, Merseyside fished Poplars Lake on the Etangs De Breton complex in North West France last week and ended up smashing three personal bests.
Fishing 50 Premier Baits Plum and Shellfish boilies around a snowman presentation in the centre of the lake on gravel patches, Dave banked a p.b. mirror of 43lbs, a p.b. grass carp of 23lbs and an awesome Wels’ catfish of 70lbs – another best for the angler known as Ribble Dave locally.
Dave also had mirrors of 31lbs, 26lbs, 19lbs 8ozs and 12lb – making a total catch weight of 224lbs 8ozs.
Dave, who fished days only said, “Fishing was slow to start, no fish until Wednesday due to the weather conditions of rain and very cold north winds. But I kept plugging away and got the results!”
Ian Hutchings, Jamie Wilson and Luke Laurie also had a good week on Poplars Lake.
Ian landed five different 30lbs carp with the best mirror at 36lbs and his best common at 31lbs. He also had catfish to 32lbs. Jamie had twenty plus mirrors and commons and banked a peronal best Wels' catfish of 64lbs, along with another at 29lbs. Luke had three different thirty plus mirrors with the best at 32lbs - a personal best - plus several big twenties and a personal best catfish of 64lbs.
 
Ultimate Lake
For week commencing 8th May Alan caught 22 fish including 4x40's up to 48lbs with a lovely 42lb common. Alan said "All fish were in 1st class condition & gave a good fight. Also had 2 stunning linears.....Our group cannot recommend Ultimate lake highly enough, whether it's your 1st or 15th trip. Mick the owner is always on hand for advice & goes out of his way to ensure that your trip is the best experience you can possibly have in France. A 15 minute walk takes you to the quiet village of Desertines that has great english & french bars which keeps the girls happy. We will book again for th 3rd year running as this is the best lake we have fished in France."
