The 12th century lakes are on a 35 hectare estate away from roads or railways. The main lake is 50 acres in size and is surrounded by mature oaks. It has 18 swims, 6 are doubles and there is vehicle access to 90% of them. There are 4 swims that can only be accessed by boat. We ferry anglers gear over to them and boats may be hired from us to put markers out and for baiting up. The maximum number of anglers is restricted to.24 per week. In November 2005 the lake was stocked with 700 carp to compliment existing stock. We introduced 100’s of 20’s and 30’s, 50X 40’s and a few 50’s. The lake bed is made up of sand, gravel and has some silty areas. |
