Fished boilies only, heavy baiting on a spot and fishing rods on and off the area, also used bait boat.

Our second visit and every bit as good as the first ! Having the food package made this a true holiday as Sue was fishing instead of cooking,
all the meals were superb - thank you Sophie. The kids were always pleased to see Jon Sophie and Oscar evry time that they came to see us,
thanks to both of you for all the help and advice, this has been a great fishing trip and also a lovely family holiday with lots of fun memories and pictures to take back with us.

General comments
All three of us have had a nice first visit to Les Croix. Big thanks to Jon and Sophie (and Oscar too of course). The gite was perfect - so clean on arrival with a lovely living space and the shower room was particularly good. The fishing was slow at times due to weather and fish
not feeding, however the highlight of the trip was the big mirror caught mid-week. Wetaher mixed with some light showers and also some warm sunshine. Lots to do in the region for the non-anglers, all in all a very relaxing and sress-free week for us all.

Had a fantastic time - both thoroughly relaxed and chilled. The fishing was a a bit slow, due to weather very hot and humid, but near to the end of the week the lake yielded a beautiful 40lb mirror (new PB). The gite was lovely and the food absolutely fantastic ! Sophie spolied us rotten all week and we will now have to go on a salad diet for the next few weeks! Jon and Sophie were both very friendly and helpful. A big thank you for such a relaxing and productive week's holiday. We have rebooked for 2013.

You get exactly what it says on the tin ! A fantastic holiday for the fishermen and the ladies and children. The gite was clean and comfortable,
weather warm ansd sunny for the first few days, great for the kids in the pool, better fishing weather later in the week, 20's, 30's and two 40's,
Bradley a new PB of 37-12 he is so chuffed. Great holiday and hope to repeat the experience.

Our third time at Les Croix and we have booked again for 2012. Fantastic weather and fishing, Ian caught 27 carp and smashed his PB ! Already looking forward to our return next year - it's always lovely to see Jon, Sophie and Oscar.

What a fantastic week ! Ken, Lorraine and Stephen were fishing while Mick, Julie, Leanne and Ella-Mai relaxed in the beautiful gite and pool, a real home from home. A brilliant relaxing break - Sophie and Jon were so helpful and showed us how to practice proper fish care for all the big carp that we caught. HAPPY DAYS !

First visit but not the last ! We have had a great week, weather unsettled with thunderstorms at the start of the week. Fishing started off slow but improved later, only fished 3 hours mornings and 4 hours evenings. Jon and Sophie have been great hosts making sure that we had everything we needed, the gite was great and has everything you could need for a fantastic holiday.

Another week here in paradise ! Brilliant fishing and mint condition carp, thanks again to Jon and Sophie for their lovely hospitality, fishing advice and tips (listen to Jon he knows his lake and his fish.) What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Successful tactics for Gary were placing PVA bags a rod's length off the dam wall by walking them round, also fishing out in open water using a bait boat to present single 16mm hookbaits on 8 inch mantis gold hooklinks and size 6 hooks. Barbara fished similar tactics in the shallows.

We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived, Jon and Sophie are lovely and were very helpful throughout our stay. Nick fished 24/7 only stopping for meals and showers - he caught 16 carp, the biggest was 36lbs. The fishing was a little slow at times but improved during the week thanks to advice from Jon. Overall a lovely holiday, good weather, very relaxing and peaceful, the food was out of this world, every meal was delicious - Sophie is a great cook !

Keith baited heavily during the daytime when he was not fishing and during the week used 17kg of Mainline's new Grange boilies, 30 kg of pellet, 10kg partiblend, and 8 kg of Mainline crushed hemp groundbait, using a VIPER MK3 boat to deliver it to three different spots along the dam wall and far margin.

fished with 10 kg Premier Baits 20mm Matrix bolies, and baited with 25kg pellets and 30kg partiblend, using the hired Viper MK3 bait boat and fished several areas towards the far bank.

Had a brilliant week, the gite was as advertised unlike some places we have stayed, the lake is stunning and with fishing to match. Took advantage of the pool to cool down on those hot afternoons and enjoyed several walks in the lovely area when not fishing

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Everything you need to make a perfect holiday. Location spectacular, accommodation first class as advertised. Welcome pack is a nice touch with olives and wine included. Loved the power shower, made good use of the pool - needed when the temperature reaches 30+. Brilliant fishing 31 fish including two forties - see you again next year.

We all enjoyed a lovely holiday at a very well managed lake with owners that genuinely care, plenty of good quality fish and helpful advice from Jon. The gite was exceptional - comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean, Sophie's welcome pack was much appreciated after the long journey. Arrived to a very warm welcome from Jon, Sophie and Oscar. The gite was like a home from home - very comfortable with everything you need. Made good use of the swimming pool, very welcome as the weather was very warm, high 20's every day. As a relative novice I was very grateful for the advice and help from Jon, and the fishing was great - I broke my PB more times than I can remember and to top it all my last fish of the week was a common of 42-14. Thank you both for looking after us and making us feel so welcome, hope to be back soon.

Our first visit to this venue, we were warmly greeted on arrival, and this set the theme for the week with Jon and Sophie pulling out all the stops to make our stay enjoyable, nothing was too much trouble and the accommodation, food, service and fishing are faultless. Despite changeable weather and spawning activity we caught 31 cracking carp, every one of them in immaculate condition and topped by a new PB common of 40-00 for Joe. Will be back in the Autumn.

Were the facilities what you expected?
Les Croix is like a second home for us - we really like the set up, the lake fishes really well during the daytime so we fish hard through the day and relax in the gite at night. This trip was probably the best fishing trip we have ever had, we decided to fish and bait with boilies only, using 50kg of Premier Baits Matrix during the week, and it really paid off with a fantastic catch of fish with two thirds being 20lb+

Some very nice 20's including 2 x 28's and 2 x 26's to back up the 30's, and Chris catching one of the grass carp at 26-02 on his birthday which absolutely made the trip for him.\r\n
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Electing to go with the particle approach, they used 30kg pellets and 25kg partiblend and fished plastic maize hookbaits on size 6 Gardner Talon Tip hooks to 25lb Kryston Super Mantis Gold hookinks.

<FONT color=#ffffff unselectable=\"off\">The accommodation was lovely, everything we needed and very nicely presented. The fishing was fantastic, with lots of runs and some really lovely looking carp, especially the Grass Carp! We had a great week, which proved to be a nice relaxing fishing break unlike some of the other pressured waters we have fished

26 carp landed for a total weight of 542lbs, with 12 x 20's, 1 x 30 and the first 40 of 2008 at 41-00 to John who also had 2 x 29's and three more at 25+ including a grass carp of 26-02. Karyn caught 8 fish with the best one going 31-08, backed up with a 27-13, 24-04 and 21-10.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
We fished with size 4 and 6 Korum hooks on 15lb silkworm hooklinks with semi fixed lead set ups using the bait boat and fishing single or double bottom baits over small beds of pellets with boilie free offerings.WE brought a lot of bait but were still surprised at the amount of bait that we got through, which included 37kg pellets, 12kg Rod Hutchinson boilies, 13kg Cotswold KICK/UFO/T2 boilies, 1 kg Nash boiles and 1 kg Nutrabaits boilies !

Our stay at Les Croix has been peaceful and exciting ! This was our first fishing trip to France, and we could not have picked a better venue. The gite is truly an English home from home, it has everything that you need, very well laid out with a great kitchen and living room, fantastic shower and comfortable bedrooms, with everything from scatter cushions to candles. We did not use the pool but it looked great.
After a slow first day on the bank, on Jon's advice we decided to hire a baitboat and our catch rate improved dramatically, culminating in the capture of a 41lb mirror. All we can say is that you will need alot of bait, you cannot take too much ! Its a good job that Les Croix have their own shop with bait and tackle that you might need, and Jon is always on hand to give all the advice and tips that you need.

20 carp, 19 of which were over 22lbs ! 480lbs of carp giving an average weight of 24lbs ! Best fish of the week was a mirror of 36-04 backed up with fish of 33-00, 28-00, 6 x 26's, 4 x 24's, 6 x 22's and one 18-00.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Pro-Logic DD baits boilies on mono hooklinks with size 6 hooks and fished with a scattering of freebies around each rod, with most of the fish coming from open water in the middle part of the lake.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The week we spent at Les Croix was just fantastic. My wife and two daughters aged 11 and 14 had a wonderful time. The location was so nice that they were not too interested in sight seeing, the kids just loved the pool.

The venue is in mint condition and so are the fish.

The most enjoyable fishing I have ever had, the hired tackle was good quality gear, and the Nash rods were excellent to play fish on. Jons advice was very useful and helped us to bank more fish. Accommodation - faultless, an absolute pleasure to have all the home comforts with good cooking facilities, great power shower, really clean, and nice to have English TV.

We have had a lovely week here at Les Croix. The fishing although hard at first (after spawning) was fantastic, and the quality of the fish superb. The gite was very lovely and well equipped and nice and close to the lake. We had great weather so the pool was a very welcome addition in which to cool off !
