We had a very wet week with high winds and cold temps but still got 28 fish two over 30lb and a new PB for Adi 31lb9oz Adi banked 15 and Paul netted 13
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Target the margins with Sweetcorn or maize over lake mix. Cell and Odyssey XXX took most of the better fish with fake corn or pineapple pop-up fished ‘Snowman’ style
Were the facilities what you expected?
Totally – nice improvements from last year. Food superb as always – mad not to take food package
Were you happy with them?
Very! Enjoyed every minute was nice to see a pied flycatcher around my swim for most of the week

Definitely – this was our 4 return visit and planning on bringing some other friends later in year

Frank banked 6 carp the best for him was 13kg and also big sid Jeroen banked 12 carp the best for him was 14kg this was a mach on his PB... next time my friend he also netted big sid and Jurgen Ben was top rod with 16 carp his best and a new PB at 15kg he upped this three times

This is my 3rd time and i have 2 more times this year its getting better all the time like the new pathways also the new monster carp cradles, landing nets and weigh slings are great Ben was top rod with 16 carp his best and a new PB at 15kg he upped this three times We have booked again with Marc for Oct because we all had a perfect time with Marc, Nikki, John and Pat Thankyou for making a perfect week for us

I caught 6 carp over 30lb (30, 30.5, 31, 31.8, 32.3, 33.8) and 8 20's (25, 26, 27, 27.8, 28, 28.4, 28.8, 29) also a 26lb sturgeon after the 4th attempt they go ballistic a great experience. Only fishing days i had 25 fish with a total weight of 514.2lbs all very good quality
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
I found a good bed of marcs lake mix, with 2 pop-up corn just off the bottom was a good tactic and caught most of my big fish, the biggest came out on CC Moores XXX with a little lake mix and a handful of boilies
Were the facilities what you expected?
It was a bit small, but nicely kept with all the necessary facilities

It' a well kept venue with a lovely little lake, the well maintained swims are equipped with high quality landing nets, landing mats and weigh slings which is an excellent idea.I caught 6 carp over 30lb and 8 20's Only fishing days i had 25 fish all very good quality Marc & Nikki have been brilliant with Marc bringing a highly recommended breakfast to our swim in the morning and always on hand for friendly help and advice

Very challenging week due to rain day and night often torrential very cold for this time of year however still possible to catch a few decent fish if you stick at it, best fish 33lb 4oz grass carp 31lb 2oz Mirror, 26lb 12oz Common, 26lb Sturgeon Rob 5 fish at 85lb, Lailah 13 fish at 91lb and Chris 19 fish at 174lb

Rick - Best to use a boat, enables you to find the feature and put down a decent bed of free feed along with your hookbait, Lake mix/ pellet and Mainlines New Grange, Fuzion and Cell boilies with Response Pellets, Colin - Essential to find the features and keep the line pinned down as the Carp spook off as soon as they feel a line. Plenty of lake mix particle / pellet with Mainline Cell boilies, CC Moore Odyssey XXX and Live System boilies from Marc

3rd time for us here updates to the lake are excellent and the food was brilliant

We banked 61 fish (42) under 20lbs (12) 20's and (4) 30's with a PB Sturgeon at 27lbs it was very up and down weather wise making it a hard week but didn’t stop us catching. Nice to get out of the rain in the cabin.The updates to the lake are nice. The fish have just spawned so are at their low weight for the year but still good sizes

We only had time for 3 full days and loved every min Gary & Nikki are a lovely couple - very welcoming Beautiful setting-accommodation is great (kept the wives happy) lake is well set out with a good choice of swims Marc aka Gary was very helpful with advice and definitely helped us catch more fish...Would definitely come back

Catches started off weighing in small but after day 3 it did pick up and we started to see the heavier fish. Caught many for the keep net but that is positive to get them out.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Little and often with mixed particles and boilies popped up worked well (yellow) Boilie tipped with corn.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The facilities were more than we expected, 3 pin plug sockets, hanging area for clothes, washing line, TV and entertainment and a lovely welcome pack :-)

We were both very happy with the standard and the attention to detail has paid off

A little disappointed to catch so many of the smaller fish but we still had a great time to relax and catch our breath from the rat race. A few bigger fish and its “Paradise Found” We also want to thank Marc for doing everything he could to help us and not even making us feel a pain in the neck, even when we called him out at stupid o’clock. Over 80 fish, 2 times the Grass Carp (1st time out for this fish) and lots of other nice fish with Tench. Jurgen is a mad Sturgeon, if you catch him say hello for us, we catch him 4 times. ( Total was 93 fish = 515kg-1134lbs with 32 fish in the mid 20's and 13 fish over 13-15kg-28.6-33lbs the best a 16kg-35.2lbs Mirror for our week)

Sweetcorn and fake pop up corn, baitboat find some nice gravel plates.

Yes, only we need a walking freezer. (reference to a Dutch tv beer advert)

We have a very nice time here with 93 fish at 1134lbs, and we back in August! we need a cook like Nikki, it’s very good stuff. We ask Marc if he wants a change of woman but he won’t, we understand that. Everybody is nice and Nikki best cook! If there is anything you want you get it here! Nice see you all again in August i got Fish of the week at La Petite with a 35.2lbs Mirror and also dad got a bottle of bubbly for netting the grass carp this was the 1st time he come out

We only fished for 6 days and mostly just in the day with 5 rods the days was nice and hot but the nights was a little cold so we only fished two nights

Short hook links, home made fishmeal boilies, pineapple pop ups, pre-drilled marine halibut pellets (for bigger fish) When using float rod, sweet corn. there is a bait shop ther so next time we will use it and save room in the car

Yes, even had good lights for the night on some swims powered by the sunshine

Yes, breakfast and dinner were also very good, compliments to the chef

I was glad that Marc me some extra ground bait and the spot near to the monk delivered some nice runs

Yes, your cabin is super, your douche is dripping a bit (new shower will be installed before next season) maybe a knife to cut the French bread (a previous guest had taken the knife block with knives, without our knowledge) a coffee machine would be nice!

The lads only recorded the larger fish (20 or over) Jason was top rod with around 18 fish the best of which was 37.5 Jason bettered all his PB’s having Commons and Mirrors over 30 (and his first Sturgeon), Wayne also landed some nice fish in the 30’s. Good fight from all fish, all of which were in good condition, some small Carp but lots of action.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Cast and scatter boilies rather than bait boats. Fishmeal baits worked the best (from CCMoore) nothing from fruit based baits for Jason, Wayne got results with Mainline Cell. Bait boat did start producing with hemp.

We had about 100 to 120 fish with around 60 to 70 smaller fish under 20lb, around 30 to 40 fish over 20lb including 28lb, 30lb, 36.5lb (two times) and 3 over 42lb ). Didn’t fish through the night and sometimes reeled the rod in that didn’t go off in the evening
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Best tactics were fishing the silt instead of the gravel areas and fishing with only two or three cups of boilies over the spot. Best bait was Odyssey XXX from CC Moore baits
Were the facilities what you expected?
The facilities are quite good, have seen a lot worse

Yes, the only thing we could not find was something to clean the floor

Total of 107 fish between us amounting to 843lb. 7 Sturgeon, 6 x 20lb, 1 x 30lb, so many small teens we lost count! Keir got 68 fish which included his new p.b.30lb Carp and a p.b. Sturgeon at 12lb - Total of 602.3lb which is a new male lake record. Julia got 39 fish which included a p.b. Tench at 7.11lb, p.b. Sturgeon at 12lb and a Carp at 26lb also a p.b. Total of 240.7lb which is a new female lake record.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Scopex Squid + Robin Red, Cell, 24mm shelf life boilies. Method mix with fake corn. Short hair rigs. Pellet and Lake mix a must.
Were the facilities what you expected?
No, they were much better! Has everything you could want and more, even an xbox with a good selection of games and dvd’s, plus a mirror and English socket so I could straighten my hair.

The sign over the cabin door says “Paradise Found” and it’s not wrong. Perfect specimen fish, beautiful surroundings and wonderful hosts. See you next year.

Wesley was top rod with 547lbs of fish, 32 below 10lbs, 8 doubles, 10 mid teens, 5 high teens, 5 high 20s and a 30.8 and not forgetting 3 Sturgeon. Jurgen banked 386lb 19 below 10lbs, 13 mid teens, 4 mid 20’s with best of 26.4 and 2 Tench just over the 4lb mark. Bo our lady had 16 fish, totalling 213lbs, with 7 below 10lbs, 5 mid teens and 4 high 20’s with a best of 28.6. Total weight for the week 1136lbs!!!
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Best baits were Mainline Fusion boilies with Lake mix and Pellet and Nutrabaits Trigga Ice boilies with Lake mix and Pellet and 4 Seasons Cranberry & Caviar with Lake mix and Pellet.
Were the facilities what you expected?
More than expected, very nice cabin

I believe we had approx 440lb of fish between us to high twenties the best being 28.6
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
We tried various rigs, long , short, heavy and light leads didn’t seem to make too much difference. I feel any good quality bait will catch on the right day and a good faithful bait such as meat or corn would be affective
Were the facilities what you expected?
The cabin was spot on with nothing else really needed, I would say the owners have thought what they would want and added a few extras just so every base is covered
Were you happy with them?
More than happy and I know if we had used it fully and not been on the bank the whole visit it would have been very comfortable.

The group banked over 800lbs of fish most of which were over 20lb the average of the net was 24lbs! •Rick: Only counted fish over 20lbs, with 2 over 30lbs with best of 36.7 and another 7 fish of 20+ also caught my first French Tench, around 234lb total •Colin: Included anything over a double, with 20 as a total including 4 over 30lbs best 36.7 and 12 over the 20lb mark, also 2 Tench and 57Pasties total weight without pasties around 497lb. •Chris: Had a best of 34.1lb with 5 over 20lb and a few doubles 2 Tench also caught the same Sturgeon 5 times! And around 11 pasties
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
•Rick: Best to use a boat, enables you to find the feature and put down a decent bed of free feed along with your hookbait, Lake mix and cell boilies •Colin (Le Pasty): Mr.Catch!! Essential to find the features and keep the line pinned down as the Carp spook off as soon as they feel a line. Plenty of lake mix particle / pellet and Cell boilies. •Chris: No best tactics as such for me, just loads of lake mix and cell boilies, used backleads all time.

Well over 160 fish banked! Adrian: - 39 Carp over 5lb including 12 over 20lb, best of 25lb 6oz Common, also 2 Sturgeon and 5 Tench. Paul: - 41 Carp over 5lb including 7 over 20lb, & 1 over 30lb best of 31lb 10oz Common, also 1 Sturgeon and 3 Tench. Jon: - 15 Carp over 5lb including 4 over 20lb best of 33lb 1 oz Mirror.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Feed pellets & Maize and fish boilies or Halibut pellets with fake corn/maize over the top. Margins very prolific – particularly using sweetcorn as bait.

Absolutely – comfortable and quiet. Very welcoming, loved the flexibility offered

Better than we thought they would be, would like to have been here longer to use them fully, too busy fishing to use the Sky TV or X box and DVD’s

Great because the whole lake was for us, so no problem with having swims allocated, move freely around lake as we wanted no hassle of choosing one peg for the stay. We had not very good weather, lot of rain and only one sunny day but still had a good time. The owners are friendly and very helpful and made us feel really welcome, hassle free holiday. 5*.
