What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
20ml Nash monster crab and crayfish boilies over Carp pellet for Carp. Cats caught on Hailibut pellets - 4 halibuts on double hair rigs.

General comments
An excellent weeks fishing including 3 Cats over 100lbs (biggest @125) with a much bigger Cat lost on the bank (bit Seans fingers!) Biggest Common at 51lbs 6oz's, biggest Mirror @ 38lbs, biggest Sturgeon @ 46lbs. A total of over 2500lbs caught between 4 anglers. Weather was horrendous and the banks were very boggy as a result. Fishing more than made up for it.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Big beds of bait, every bait we used produced a fish.
Were the facilities what you expected?
2 Euros a shower, were really warm second one in is cooler if you want that. very clean and tidy. Owner came round every day during the week. if you attempt to talk to him he will offer you advice but doesn't speak hardly any English, make an effort to try some French.
Were you happy with them?
Yes fantastic. The only problem we had was on the Tuesday 5am in the feeding period owner came round and was in the lake putting in aeration devices. lost almost the whole day due to this.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes defiantly. Fantastic week away.

Yes communication was good throughout and payment in small chunks, builds you up for the big week. Night time is when the lake comes to life for carp Cats were feeding all week but no luck this time catching one live bait them! day time the sturgeon will keep you busy if you get one on move the rods that are within 50m or you will catch on all 6 rods. even with back leads!
General comments
Allocated swims 1 and 2. didn't know that we were given set swims but turned out that this was a good place to be, 150yrd cast to the far bank. LONG cast. would need a bait boat for next year. and probably on swims 1-5 if your aiming to fish the far bank. Fantastic weeks fishing worth the money. if the lake is limited to 5-6 anglers swim 3, 4, 5 are practically un fishable If you not willing to get wet then this is not the lake for you. There are old bank supports that we lost a couple of fish at the net due to snagging. the bottom of the lake has lots of flint you need abrasive line to prevent crack offs.

4x 20s 6x30s 1x 46lb 8oz beatiful looking common not a mark on it. jayne had 3x 30s during day the rest all came at night.The lake came alive once it got dark.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
tight to far bushes at approx 90 yards.leads were plugging in shallow margin on cast helping to dump them on the take,keeping fish up in water away from snags and trailing lines.scopex squid red with bit of plastic worked best for us feeding maize and partiblend.
Were the facilities what you expected?
yes ,Dave had told us what to expect.we found showers very hot and clean and the toilet clean and worked well.
Were you happy with them?
yes,this is a drive and survive venue !
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
yes,make sure you have 2 landing nets ready and your scales are big enough !

Basic angling at its best,Dave booked swims 9/10 for our 4 night stay which had a reserve note on them when we got there,nice touch.We spent first 20 minutes clearing discarded line and bits of litter,disappointing but soon forgotten.Swims are very tight so we only used 2 rods each this was more than enough.Nice lake holding some lovely fish.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
fishing tight to far margin with bait boat, walking round other side of lake and scaterring bed of boiles and groundbait.All baits worked pop up,small baits,cell dumbell, indian spice,cell, new grange and trout from owner worked for cats
Were the facilities what you expected?
yes everything that was needed for weeks fishing. lake is fairly tight fishing with 8 anglers anymore and would be over crowded.a few disagreements over space at certain times ;)
Were you happy with them?
more than happy, i noticed a few people moaned about the place and i cant really see why its a weeks fishing on a great runs water and you are more or less left alone to get on with it. Toilets and showers could probably do with a dust down not nice trying do ya business with big spider hanging over you ;)
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
yes, especially if first time to France as you wouldnt really want to go and not catch any fish for a week on youre first trip.Lots of fish and overall an amazing week.We are all going 100% going to return at some stage.

General comments
In general, a good lake with a good stock of fish. However, the litter rules need to be enforced and the posts in swims 3 and 4 need to be pulled out as people were loosing fish because of these. Shower block was basic and did the job.

Fish to far bank with almost any bait.

No . . . . . Worse.
Were you happy with them?
NO..The caravan was disgusting when we arrived and had to be cleaned big time. And the rubbish around the lake was a joke, and it took them till wednesday before they bothered to make an effort to clean it up. (and i use that term loosely). The showers are shared with people from other lakes..be prepared to have to dig the plug holes out yourselves, there's no daily cleaners !!!

No way, in the 14 yrs or so of going to France fishing, this is the worst place i've been to. In my opinion its way over priced for what you get, there's far better places to spend a week fishing.

My first impressions were, that the banks were very untidy and that the owners didn't seem to care, at the end of the week my opinion hadn't changed. And all along the front of the bank at about 3-4ft apart are the old bank support posts, which as the bank has receeded by about 2ft now, do absolutely nothing but get in the way of your landing net whilst trying to land the fish safely. Why they just don't pull them out i don't know !

What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
We used Cell 20mm tipped with corn and CC mores XXX hallibut pellet, Hinders miixed combo If you put too much pellet down you will find the cats and the sturgeon but the sturgeon do move on once you caught them.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes they are basic but showers are nice and hot and you get a long time however they are 2 euro's a go.

General comments
The lake is nice and quiet all the time the odd car goes by but overall a very nice lake. The lake has lots of activity being it is 3 - 5 ft in most places plenty of carp rolling in the swims.

On the hook pellett and boilie for carp, cats love large pellett, persevered with boilies to keep on carp, 50 kilo of bait to far bank

Lake just as expected, showers short walk but 2 Euro's a go.Local town close bye & adequate, bivvy set up good.
Were you happy with them?
Only one plug socket in the shower block, no hot water for washing plates. Bailiff Jacques Vasseur very helpful.

Good fishing lake but loaded with Cats. French ruined first two days and last day with their Sky pods and lines stright across the lake in centre swims

The Carp didn't feed for the first 4 days but had 13 to 26lb 8oz from Thursday to Saturday morning. Lost 6 cats to the reserve, couldn't hold them on 25lb line. (biggest cat now 170lb)
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Fishing hard to the far bank with pellet tipped with artificial corn.
Were the facilities what you expected?
You're be pleased to learn that a toilet seat has been attached to the English toilet. The other wc is still a hole in the ground.
Were you happy with them?
The accommodation is too expensive for what you get. The shower doesn't work and the wc is okay if you're a midget.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
This venue is a 5/6 peg venue only and anymore will detract from the fishing. We had a foot of extra water and swims 9 & 10 were unaccessable.

CCFH are great help and would recommend them.
General comments
The drainage to the lake needs sorting, the condition of the carp was poor compared with other years and the drains smell around the shower block! BUT... I will be back!

Total of 65 fish to 39lb Too many to list in great details but no fish under 18lb so pretty much all lumps. Also had 6 cats up to 100lb although the biggest we had to guess as it was too big for the landing net (Bring a BIG one!)\r\nAlso had some sturgeons YUK!!!
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Simple rigs but used nothing less than 25lb due to the cats. Hook size needs to be a little bigger and stronger for the same reason.As ususal the bait needs to be dropped on the far bank in a bait boat. Casting to the far bark in swims 1 & 2 needs some powerful gear and good casting as it's about 140yds at it's furthest point.
Were the facilities what you expected?
We've been there 4 times before so old hands to this venue. Basic and simple is a good description.
Were you happy with them?
They could do with hot water in the washroom and some additional power points as everyone uses a bait boat there. The showers remind me of a german gas chamber i saw once although they do the job. A seat on the English toilet would be nice but it's better than a pooing into a shower tray!

Lucky for us the weather was good when we were there. The showers broke on our last day as tjhey were stuck on for 24 hours before we left. I take it this was the start of a bad week for the chaps that arrived on our departure.

Popped up Maize seemed the best (don't put in groundbait or the crucians will bother you non stop)

Showers were broken for 2 days and the owner shut the water off. Had to flush toilets with lake water, NOT ACCEPTABLE!

The toilet to the lake side needs replacing for english and the drainage around swims 5-6 needs improving, but generally okay.

Met many anglers on the ferry back who had blanked or only caught a couple due to the torrential downpour midweek and have recommended this venue to them.

General comments
Only 5 anglers fished the lake and we all fitted in nicely. If the lake is full you will only have 19m each to fish and its about time the number was reduced!

Brief details of your catches
we fished swim's 9&10 and had 90 fish between 2 of us,we lost around 40 fish due to the snaggy swim.carp upto 39lb and cat's upto 77lb 8 oz,sturgeon to 22lb 80z,grass carp to 26lb 8oz
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
tight to the far bank for the carp and 3-4 ft off the far bank for the cat's, small bait's seem to work better than big bait's,fake corn popped up and maize allso loose feed particle's and pellet,bait boat is a must fish are not put off by boat's at all.take plenty of terminal tackle i.e leads,hooklink & hook's,back lead's.

shower's are good,and clean and shop's are only 10 min's up the road.

General comments
Most enjoyable week fishing, with most fish caught from the far margin which is accessible. We thought although the lake caters for 10 anglers it should only be fished by 6. The pegs are well spaced but the swims are tight due to the wedge shape of the lake. The resident Coypu is also entertaining at night....

To many to list best fish 35pound 6ounce common and a 30pound mirror plus cat fish grass carp in total about 1000 pound of fish between two of us.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
bait boat a must fish on bed of hemp with 20mm fusion and KG1 hook bait.
Were the facilities what you expected?
generally good could have done with more tokens for shower .

yes, good for drive and survive.

yes but this is a six limit person lake.

very good fishing best ever fishing only bad thing is make sure it is only being fished by 6 people when we arrive found that 4 others have booked and it was well crowded could only fish 2 rods and even then lines crossed.

caught everywhere but far bank seemed best, boilies and 21mm pellets over loose fed pellets, baitboat helps.

fine no probs, only one socket for charging, suggest bringing a two way adaptor as other lake uses this as well.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Feed heavy to the far bank with Halibut pellet. Fish popped up maize (day) or 21mm Halibut pellet over (day & night). Bait boat essential.
Were the facilities what you expected?
We booked the accomodation to use for storage, changing and washing up. Above what was expected but didn't use for sleeping.
Were you happy with them?
The swims were very tight, we were lucky that 4 of the 9 fishing over the weekend went home on the Monday which gave us more room to fish. Imagine problems if all swims are booked. Turns into a mud trap after rain especially 5&6 and 1.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes would recommend this venue to a friend even though the biggest Carp in the venue is 40lb

The fishing was great and well worth going. Best swims 1&2 for Carp, 4 for Cats and Grass Carp, 9&10 for Sturgeon

Toilet behind the swims is French! But this aside worth every penny and may go back

Over 80 fish caught including 15 30's to 38lbs, a 17lb golden Koi, 20lb Leather and 4 cats to 40lbs. The remainder were all 20's (only 5 undr 20lbs)

Used fish flavoured boilies (Shrimp etc) over seed. Halibuts worked well.

Yes, First time I went was in the 90's through CCFH. Facilities have improved since then. Have been back 6 times.

50 fish were banked with the biggest being a 50lb Cat and 36lb Carp. The weather was pretty rubbish for the first few days but then cleared up, the lake level was really high and the banks were really muddy this time but other than that the trip was excellent. We were using Shellfish B5 from Mike Willmott's Essential Baits and the other pair were using Dynamite Baits Source both fished well I wouldn't say one outperformed the other.\r\n\r\n
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
The fish were all holed up in the snags at the top of the lake and only ventured out at night, so Dean & Mark in 7& 8 would be getting takes from 22:00 through until 03:00 and then we would get takes in 5 & 6 from 03:00 untill 09:00 before they went back into the snags for the day. We managed to pick up a few during the day but they were just rogue fish, again fishing far margins for the carp and mid water for the cats, the sturgeon were showing approx 10 feet off the near bank, they were picked up on a bed of pellet and a strawberry pop up!

Phenomenal Fishing! Over 5000lb's banked - Full report is to be done. In breif we caught over 50 x 30's, biggest of 26lbs. Also caught 5 x 60lb+ catfish, 1 x 80lb cat + 1 x 107lb Catfish - Unbelievable.stocking.

Not brilliant, swims were very wet after a heavy downpour - didn't drain away. Showers were OK but expensive at 2 euros per shower. Could be improved.

We caught fish everywhere on the lake. PVA bag just out in front proved just as good. One thing I will say is there was a fair bit of corregated iron with sharp edges holding bank up (CCFH - This has now been addressed) so have to watch where you land fish.

Pellets with chop boilies, tight to 2m from far bank. Bait must be tight - use baitboats.

A prolific runs water when its on form. We were having multiple runs and was hard to keep 3 rods in the water at the same time. I would advise parties to book exclusive as swims are close and this water is only reaslly suited to a maximum of 4 anglers using 3 rods each. Not as secluded as other french carp lakes as a road that can get get busy runs along the right hand bank. This has been our best trip by far to france, for catches, in over 6 years.

In total we caught 117 fish including 8 catfish. We had 8 30lb+ carp to a 38lb common. The rest were between 15 and 29lb. Catfish ranged from 34lb to 50lb. The total weight of fish caught was 2730lb at an average weight of 23lb 4oz.

Wind was blowing in the wrong direction but still managed several carp to 29lbs and a cat of 37lbs. Others banked an 80lb cat and over 200 carp pushing 40lbs. I only fished for 3 days though.

Unbelievable fishing - caught over 40 fish in first 24hours. Lucky we had whole lake to ourselves - but still stayed on swim numbers 5 & 6.

I used carp pellets and catfood for catfish - works everytime. carp liked fishy boilies and dynamite source bait

Shelf life fishmeal boilie fished over a bed of particles (hemp) used 20kg between the two of us.

We had 68 20's up to 29lbs plus 5 x 30's up to 39lbs. We also had 5 x Cats including a 54lb, 48lb, 42lb + 2 30's.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
We used 18 - 20 ml Dynamite boilies over a bed of halibut marine pellets. All cats came out on tench caught in the lake.

Yes - better now there is an English toilet!

Very cold week, the weather was wet for the first half and the fishing was slow. the majority of catches came out on thursday & Friday. It was a slower week than last year, but all in all a good weeks fishing.

alot of big carp and the odd catfish and a stergeon.

bottom baits over a bed of pellets or hemp. pva bags worked very well at short distance.

yes and they were very good.

yes very happy the showers were lovely and warm and the french toilet was differnt but amusing!
