had a great time here, first time fishing in france and this venue did not disapoint, very basic but thats what we expected from drive and survive venue

48 Fish in total for the week......... CARP - 35 Fish 12 Doubles (including x4 19lb), 20 Twenties (including x4 25lb plus), 3 Thirties, 34lb 4oz (Mirror) 34lb (Mirror) and 39lb 2oz (Common). CATS - 8 Fish 54lb, 55lb, 68lb 6oz, 33lb 7oz, 68lb 10oz, 58lb 8 oz, 58lb and 48lb 8oz. STURGEON - 5 Fish 28lb, 14lb, 32lb 10 oz, 28lb 6oz and 41lb 4oz
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Fished swims 5, 6 and 7. Snowman with fluro pop up works best, next time i would step my line up to 20lb, i only used 15lb and with the snags we lost a fair few fish. The power of these fish seemed to be a world apart from the usual and i'm sure we lost some of the bigger residents. Trying to turn some of these fish was like trying to turn a double decker bus, no joke.
Were the facilities what you expected?
English toilets a short walk to the car park opposite the lake, the showers were very hot and about 5 mins drive to a different lake, no problems.
Were you happy with them?
Yes.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, if you like Cats this is the place, definetely bigger Carp, if you can get to them.
Would you recommend our services to a friend?
Yes, ask for David @ carp-france.com, helpful guy, knows his stuff.
General comments
Fished mainly late afternoons and through to early mornings, it was very hot during most of the days and it made the fishing slow. Toilets were acceptable and the showers very hot which were only 5 mins down the road. One local shop in the village seemed to sell everything you need (bit pricey though)

33 carp to 34.12. Cats to 89lb. Grass's to 31 and a good sturgeoan at 28lb

Mainline pineaple popups and activ8. used pellets to bait up areas in swims 5,6,7

14 x 30's, 66 x 20's of which 43 were over 25lbs. Biggest carp came out at 37lb 8oz. 12 cats came out inc. 2 over 100lbs at 101 and 108. Sturgeon to 29lbs.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Large beds of pellet to draw cats in. Carp did well on hallibuts in PVA

Basic but sufficient

My pictures are in the brochure and on the web. the carp were hungry and feeding. i caught 9 fish but caught a bigger one than my dad.

Caught over 130 fish in the week including 4 cats weighing in at 75lbs, 59lbs, 53lbs and 38lbs. Vast majority of carp were in the 20's with the biggest of the week being 31lb. Grass carp came out at 29lbs, 26lbs and 25lbs.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Used maize as a ground bait along with trout pellet. Fished The Source over the top and trout pellet as a hook bait.
