At the start fishing was difficult due the unseasonably warm temperatures. This was also our first trip to France and we lacked experience. Thanks to Matt we managed to catch:
3 Sturgeons to 9.8kg and 15 carp, mainly mirrors from 10kg to 16kg.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
The new named Irish spot, the tree line next to the bridge all produced fish (mostly mid twenties). The central overhangling trees in the middle of the dam wall produced the best fish (3 x 30's).

A stunning fishery that holds a magical feel. It has to been seen to be believed. Everything from the lake to the house is perfect. The fish are in A1 condition and the surroundings are idyllic. Matt and Irene are fabulous hosts. The quality of the lake, house, fish and equipment is testament to the love care and professionalism in which they run Beausoleil. It was a pleasure meeting them and having the opportunity to fish their lake. We took home amazing memories that will never be forgotten and very much hope to be back at some point in the near future.

Great venue, fantastic welcome greeting with a very professional and friendly introduction to to accommodation and lake. Matt has a lot of practical, useful advice and is very happy to help and guide in anyway he can. By far the best hosts we have seen so far. Also directions to the venue are spot on, best yet. Matt & Irene are very nice people and we highly recommend the venue and would definitely come again.
By far one of the best lakes we have been too. The surroundings, features, cleanliness of the site are a credit to your hard work and enthusiasm. Thanks for providing us a great place to stay. You could quite easily stay here the week without fishing as it is just a nice place to be.
Whilst the fishing has been challenging we are bright enough to know that "That is sometimes the way it goes" and despite our best efforts you can't make the little fellas bite all the time.
Local "Tabac" on the way to Loiron does a set meal at lunchtime which is great value, yummy and a nice atmosphere.

Took 11 fish total and lost three cats. Took 5 cats, 27,44,54,62,72lb. Took 4 Carp, 23, 26,26,27lb and 2 Sturgeon both 17lb.
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Most fish taken on 20mm D-liver fished over 50 baits. Solid PVA bags with a D-liver pop up also worked when used. Applied more bait after each capture. Used boilies only for most of the week and got through 13kg of the D-liver. Moved swims 4 times. Had three blanks nights but took up to 4 fish per night when I did catch.

Mainly margins for the Carp & Sturgeon and open water for the Cats. The D Liver and Pellets on site are highly recommended as are high vis Pop-ups.

They were exactly as described and you could tell the hosts made a real effort in ensuring everywhere was up to scratch and ready for our arrival.

We were more then happy with everything and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Beausoleil.One thing that must be noted are the French Recycling laws. We got caught out and were faced with the prospect of separating everything at the end. (thanks Matt!!!)

Fantastic venue with quality fish ! Matt & Irene are superb hosts and have clearly gone the extra mile to provide a very enjoyable weeks fishing. The guided tour of the lake is very helpful and the facilities and surroundings are very relaxing. Will be back for sure !!!

Best Cats : 75,75,65,61\r\nBest Carp: 8 over 30lb to 38lb plus a Mirror at 40.8lb ( First 40lb + carp out of lake ).
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Great fishing but weather hot all week ( up to 38 degrees on Friday) . Best time at night or early morning , when cooler. Stve 3 carp to 35.2lb from open water, and Dave 7 carp to 40.8 ( back of island). cats from everywhere.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Fine cottage well equipped with kitchen things.

On the whole yes

Fished double swim, plenty of room for 2 large bivvys. Used house pellets and Mainline Cell & Fusion , snowman rigs. All areas of lake produced.

Very clean and everything you need. Good bath, shower,well equipped kitchen and even Sky TV.

Fished from Monday afternoon untill Friday evening (Did not fish nights) Over 80 Fish including x1 Sturgeon 20lb, x14 Carp under 15lb, x26 between15lb - 20lb, x7 between 20 - 25lb, x6 over 25lb biggest 28lb 11oz. \r\n x8 Cats under 15lb, x2 between 15llb - 20lb, x2 between 20lb - 25lb, x6 between 25lb - 30lb, x2 between 30lb - 35lb, x3 between 35lb - 40lb, 47lb 10oz, 48lb 12oz, 57lb 12oz, x2 over 65lb (scales bottomed out!! estimated biggest over 70lb)
What did you find were the best tactics/baits?
Short hooklink - 4\", size 4 hook, Snowman (18mm bottom bait with 10mm pop up) Bait little and often. Carp mainly caught in the last few days without pellets. Use pellets expect Cats and lots of em'
Were the facilities what you expected?
Very clean and tidy. Better than expected. Well equipped Kitchen including new gas oven and hob, plenty of hot water and Bathroom with a bath and shower over. TV, DVD etc.
Were you happy with them?
Very comfortable, just what you need after battling such hard fighting fish all day.

Alreday have, excellent Venue. Fished in France for a number of years, if you enjoy fishing for Cats this is the place.

Over 80 Fish in 4.5 days, only fished from first light to dusk. During the day I could only manage to fish with two rods, many times had two fish on at the same time, continuous action!! Its rare to find a venue as well maintained, as stunning, and as full of fish as this one. Once the smaller carp are under control this venue will become one of the best in the region, it must already be the best runs water. I couldn't keep 3 rods in at the same time.
