Orchard Lake is a 2 acre lake located mid-way between the towns of Vitre and Laval, a few minutes drive away from a pretty Bretagne village. This very beautiful lake is part of the popular Etangs De Breton complex in the Mayenne region of France. It is a heavily stocked carp, cat and coarse water.

Everyone who sees this breath-taking lake cannot wait to fish it!

It has its own private entrance and grounds, with an orchard beyond the shallows which feature an iris island, pink lily pads and soft weed.

• Lake Size : 2 acres
• Swims : 1 large gravelled double swim (suitable for 2 carp anglers).
• Depth : 5ft at dam end, 1ft at shallow end.
• Carp Stock : Over 100 to 40lbs
• Other Fish : Catfish: Wels’ catfish to 100lb+. Other fish: Sturgeon into double figures, roach, perch.
• Lake Bed : Soft silt but not deep silt
• Features : Beds of lily pads in the shallow, both pink and white, a reed iris island, overhanging trees, soft weed and pads dotted here and there.
• Access : Firm grassy banks, vehicle access to chalet.
• Night Fishing : Yes
• Boats Allowed : Yes, one man rowing boat provided. 
• Bait Boats Allowed: Yes, strongly recommended.

Orchard is a  heavily stocked 2 acre carp and coarse water, making it the ideal action water for the beginner or for those anglers that just like action!

The use of a bait boat is strongly recommended and a one man rowing boat is provided.

The lake is fenced and the grounds are well-maintained and has its own private entrance. There is an orchard beyond the shallows hence the lakes name. The lake is surrounded by mature trees and shrubs, many of which overhang the water. There are beds of lily pads and soft weed, plus a reed iris island. The lake/accommodation is suitable for two carp anglers, a couple or a small family.

This is a very exclusive and private retreat.

Orchard Lake are now offering a complete food package for 110 euros per week - this is payable in cash on arrival. Please inform carp-france.com on booking if you require the food package.This consists of a breakfast and evening meal.

Hot Breakfast/Brunch Baguette. Contains three fried eggs, English bacon and sausage, mushrooms. Described by all as 'awesome'.

Evening meals: there is a weekly menu which includes Chicken Curry with chips/rice, Cottage Pie, Corned Beef Pie and Chips, Beef Casserole with dumplings, Beef and Mushroom Pie, Chicken and Chips, Sunday Pork Roast, with a dessert of the day. All freshly cooked and delivered to your swim or accommodation. The meals are big!

We can cater for vegetarians or any special dietary requests if we receive good notice.

Individual breakfasts and evening meals can also be purchased if you let us know by 10am each day.

Also pasties, pies and sandwiches are available on request by separate purchase. All home-cooked fresh each day and delivered hot to your accomodation or swim!
