Located just south of Chalon-sur-Saone in the beautiful Burgundy countryside and surrounded by nothing but forest and fields, Moorland Fisheries is 15 acres in size and has everything the discerning carp angler could wish for. There are no railways, motorways or even main roads to disturb the tranquillity. On top of all this there is an abundance of wildlife to be seen including Buzzards, Red Kites and even the occasional Osprey.

Moorland Fisheries is a fifteen acre, three hundred year old, estate lake with wonderful surroundings to every swim. Access is excellent and all swims are level and comfortable. The depths vary from three feet in the margins and under the trees to nine feet at the dam. Features include 700 metres of forest bank with overhanging trees and three feet of water to cast to at approximately sixty yards. They do not allow fishing from the forest bank so there will never be another angler disturbing your accurately placed bait. The lake is extremely rich in natural food with a rich clay bottom and the fish are constantly evident and easy to find, by the trails of bubbles and “head and shouldering” carp all over the lake. The lake holds mirrors to nearly sixty pounds, commons to fifty plus and catfish to 110 pounds plus.(12 x 50's, 35 x 40's 100 plus 30's)

At Moorland Fisheries they do not believe in drawing for swims. As each angler arrives he will be given advice and assistance to choose his swim. This allows watercraft and good angling to produce good results. Although there are twenty swims they limit the number of anglers to ten so everyone has room to move. They also welcome anglers to arrive on Fridays so that they can discuss the previous week’s results with the existing anglers before starting their week.

They also provide whatever help or tuition you require with Keith Moors (well known angler with 44 years carp angling experience) who is on site permanetly. All fishing is carried out from anglers bivvies.

All fishing is carried out from anglers bivvies but there is a dining lodge designed along “English Pub” features where English breakfasts and two course gourmet evening meals are served and these are included within the price. There is Sky TV, freezer space for bait, our own bait for sale on site, English electric sockets for charging cameras, phones etc. and English shower and toilet facilities with free hot water 24/7.

For the female non fishing guest who is looking for a little more luxury we have a pool house with bedroom and lounge and a plush, outdoor swimming pool.

There is a Full English Breakfast and two course evening meal included in the price of your holiday. All meals are freshly prepared from the best ingredients available. [no boli in the bag rubbish]

We hold stocks of good quality freezer boilies and these will always be of the same flavour and quality that we use to feed the carp during the late winter and early spring.
