Carp France - The Fishing Holiday Specialists

Le Moulin du Mée is a stunning 14 acre lake in the unspoilt region of France. The lakes are set in 40
acres of woodland and wild flower meadows and are a haven for wildlife. With its own ‘micro climate’ the area boasts long hot summers and mild winters, perfect for the growing on of carp. 

With a maximum of 8 anglers allowed at any one time, the lake has never been pressured which has resulted in superb catch results week after week.

• Lake Size : Main Lake: 14 acres, Second Lake: 4 acres
• Swims : 10 swims including 2 doubles, 1 suitable for disabled access. (up to 8 for an exclusive booking)
• Depth : Average 5ft depth, 12ft at its deepest, margins from 1 to 10ft.
• Carp Stock : Over 500 (lake record 61lb) with upwards of 15 x 50's, 50 x 40's, 250 x 30's, 200 x 20's.
• Other Fish : Catfish: are between 12 to 90lb+, 6 sturgeon FROM low 20’s to over 40lbs and growing fast. Other species include Pike up to mid 20's, Roach, and a few tench. There are no crays nor poisson chats in the lake
• Lake Bed : Clay bottom with shallow silt patches and odd stony/gravel patches.
• Features : 2 Islands, relatively smooth bottom with odd humps and troughs
• Access : Parking by the house, vehicle access is not possible around the lake.
• Night Fishing : Yes
• Boats Allowed : No

The lake has just over 500 stocked carp with weights ranging from low 20's to mid fifties. Last season plenty of 30’s, 40's and 50's were caught, both commons and mirrors and it is estimated there are at least 15 x 50lb+ carp,  50 x 40's,125 x 30’s, 250 over 25lb with the remainder being high teens and low 20’s. In  April of 2011 we saw our first home grown 60 in the form of a common weighing in at 61lb. With the growth rates we have experienced in recent years we could well find that 2011 see's far more very big carp than we have estimated above.  There are also some monster Cats aproaching 100lbs and put on a phenomenal fight.

The small lake, Poppy's, is around 4 acres and is stocked with around 150 small carp ranging from mid doubles to 25lb with an additional 50-60 bigger fish to be stocked prior to the start of the 2012 season. These carp will all be in the 25lb - 40lb bracket. 

Excellent shower & toilet facilities on-site for charging bait boats, mobile phones, etc.
 
There is also an outside eating area where meals are served should you wish to take advantage of the highly recommended food package.
 

The food package comes highly recommended and is served at the outside eating area. The cost of €125 includes breakfast, two course evening meal and a glas of Beer or Wine.
