La Verrerie is set in a beautiful, tranquil small private estate of 22 acres in the fabulous Western Loire region of France. The property offers exclusive use of approx 5 acres of fishing lakes, the lakeside mobile-home with terrace and splash pool.

The property's beautiful cottage with swimming pool can be additionally rented for larger parties. We are approx 1 and half hrs from St alo and 3hrs, 3 and half hrs from Caen and Cherbourg. There are 2 excellent market towns nearby, historic Chateaubriant and Ancenis being the gateway to the Loire Valley. The vibrant city of Nantes being 1hr away and the stunning Atlantic coast 1 hr and 15 mins and many other attractions.

However if you would like a break from fishing there are numerous forest tracks for biking or horse-trekking if you wish to hire one of our horses or ponies or perhaps take a carriage ride through the forest tracks. Picnic rides can be arranged. Also, nearby, there are 2 very large lakes, one with a man-made beach with windsurfing and snack bar facilities. There are 3 good inexpensive restaurants, small supermarkets with in 6 km. Large supermarkets being 18 km away.

La Verrerie has its own private entrance and parking at the lakeside, it is also possible to drive around most of the lakes as the grounds are perfectly managed. La Verrerie has 2 lakes totaling approx 5 acres. The property is edged by a neighbouring wood and has a stunning view of the magnificent Abbaye de Melleraye. There is an abundance of wildlife and birds of prey including barn owls.

The lakes have an excellent head of carp up to 40lb a cat fish of approx 60lb and sturgeon, for the coarse angler there are tench, rudd, roach, zander and pike. The depths of the lakes go up to 7 ft. There are 2 jetties for the rowing boats and the swims are easily accessed for bivvies and night fishing. There are no nuisance species of fish in the lakes.

La Verrerie has a well appointed mobile-home on the lake-side which sleeps 4 people/ anglers, it has full terrassed decking equipped with table, chairs, parasol and sunloungers, adjoining parking, storage cabin with additional fridge for bates, a barbeque area and splash pool. The mobile-home is home from home, very clean and tidy with fully-fitted kitchen, oven, microwave, toaster etc, 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed one with 2 single beds, both with wardrobes. All bed linen and tea towels are provided but not personal towels. There is a separate bathroom with sink, wc and shower. The open plan lounge/ dinning area is very comfortable and has English TV, DVD, CD Player and many books and magazines are always available.

Additional 2 Bedroom Cottage available to rent

Should you have a larger party you may wish to also have exclusive use of the 2 bedroom gite and swimming pool which is also on site.

The cottage is newly renovated to a high standard and comprises of 2 spacious double bedrooms both with double beds, 1 with cot, 1 with single bed. Linen included. Bathroom with shower, wc, sink.

On the Ground floor there is a Fully-fitted kitchen, washing machine. Dining area. Bathroom with corner bath, wc, sink. Cosy lounge with woodburner (we have a solar panel which makes the gite suitable for winter rental), Satellite TV, DVD, CD and double doors out onto the patio.

The private pool (with slide) and the sunloungers has a fabulous view of the horses meadow and back-drop of the fishing lakes.  

Outside you will find a Barbecue area, garden furniture and sunloungers and Private parking.

Pellets are available which the fish are fed with at €10 per tub
