Etang Autels is a 5 acre situated in the Loire valley, one hour southwest of Paris. The journey from Calais can take as little as 3 ½ hours if you utilise the auto routes and skirt around the periferique of Paris. Alternatively, you can take the more scenic route, avoiding Paris, and following the west coast of France passing Rouen and Evreux. This may take a little longer but keeps the tolls down to a minimum. Only minutes from the nearest village of Authon-du-Perche, the lake is perfect for the bivvy angler wanting proven prolific fishing.

Etang Autels is a mature tree lined, triangular shaped lake with 10 marked swims. Autels is ideally suited for group bookings or the individual bivvy angler wanting excellent sport on a very productive lake. Swim numbers 1 to 7 are along one bank with pegs 8, 9 & 10 on the opposite bank, facing pegs 1 to 3. Depths range from 6 – 7 feet along the dam wall which runs between swims 1 and 8. The lake gradually gets shallower, becoming 3 - 4 feet deep at the top end. The mature trees provide excellent cover for the
bivvy angler, the over hanging branches providing a hiding place for the large head of carp and catfish lurking in the margins.
 

There is an English style toilet at the lake with running water.

For showers anglers need to use those situated at Etang Cailleaux (Autels sister lake) which is just a few minutes away by car.
