Eagle Lake and Peters Pool are located mid-way between the two towns of Vitre and Laval, a few minutes drive away a the pretty Bretagne village. The lakes are situated in private fenced grounds on the edge of a forest, and down a little-used country side-road.

The lakes are just one and quarter hours drive away from St Malo - this is all by motorway and there are no tolls. The lakes are two and a half hours from Caen and Le Havre, and three hours from Cherbourg - again no tolls. Calais is four and a half hours away by new motorway.

Eagle Lake has been stocked with around 200 fish, mainly mirror carp and some commons. There are many 20's and 30's to mid-40's together with some Wels' catfish to 70lbs plus.

Peter's Pool has been stocked with approximately 60 carp which are mainly 20's and 30's with the best fish over 40lbs. There are some lovely big commons.

Both waters are prolific fisheries with multiple catches of carp and cats every week.

There are four permanent purpose built gravel swims, which are just a few yards apart from each other making this the perfect social venue.

Eagle Lake has an island, a reed bar and several small bays. The margins are reed-lined, with overhanging shrubs and trees. There are also some soft weedbeds. Peter's Pool is square-shaped and also has reed beds, plus overhanging bush margins with some soft weedbeds. The depths on both lakes average four feet with the deepest point of six feet along the dam wall on Eagle lake and the six foot depths by the outflow pipe on Peters Pool. 

Bait boats are recommended, and a one man rowing boat is provided.

 

New for 2012 the existing chalet is being greatly extended to provide living space, the existing small chalet will be retained as an en-suite bathroom, with shower, toilet, wash hand basin etc.

The new living area will be equipped with table and chairs, a small kitchen sink with storage cupboards, fridge, freezer, gas cooker and oven, microwave, English TV/DVD.

A double bedroom is accessed via the ensuite bathroom and contains a double bed, wardrobe, bedside table and spare Z beds.

Outside is a large gravelled area for chilling out with barbecue furniture, a barbecue and parking.

The accomodation is designed for the fisherman who wishes to take his wife or partner/small family with him or to provide top class facilities for larger parties who are mainly bivvy based.

The accommodation is just fifty yards away from Peters Pool.

Unhooking mats and a small one man boat is supplied for baiting up and placing rigs if you wish.

Eagle Lake and Peters Pool are now offering a complete food package for 110 euros per week - this is payable in cash on arrival. Please inform carp-france.com on booking if you require the food package.This consists of a breakfast and evening meal.

Hot Breakfast/Brunch Baguette. Contains three fried eggs, English bacon and sausage, mushrooms. Described by all as 'awesome'.

Evening meals: there is a weekly menu which includes Chicken Curry with chips/rice, Cottage Pie, Corned Beef Pie and Chips, Beef Casserole with dumplings, Beef and Mushroom Pie, Chicken and Chips, Sunday Pork Roast, with a dessert of the day. All freshly cooked and delivered to your swim or accommodation. The meals are big!

We can cater for vegetarians or any special dietary requests if we receive good notice.

Individual breakfasts and evening meals can also be purchased if you let us know by 10am each day.

Also pasties, pies and sandwiches are available on request by separate purchase. All home-cooked fresh each day and delivered hot to your accomodation or swim!
