Congratulaions to our latest guest Michael on breaking the lake record with a stunning Common of 44lb 3oz. This beat the record set 2 weeks ago set by a mirror of 41lb
Michael is having a great week so far with 6 30's with 4 over 35lb including a fish of 39lb 10oz.
Happy birthday Ryno Balcarres. What a way to celebrate with this stunning 56lb Pb common.
After losing a big fish late into the night Ryno made the effort to redo his rods properly as he felt it had turned on after a slow couple of days.
Ryno had created his own spot which he slowly fed with bait all week.
A bottom bait topped with a house white pop up doing the business.
Great fishing fella!
Also finished the day with 37.5 mirror
43 fish
50.8lb common (lake record)
33lb grass carp
43lb mirror
27 fish over 30lb
The season is kicking off to a good start here at “Lac du Val” with some of the “Big Girls” starting to get their heads down. With the targets set high last week with two 40’s gracing the bank, the biggest @ 45lb 15 oz, we didn’t expect the leader board to change so soon.
Shane Heary, on his first visit here, after traveling all the way from Ireland with returning friend Liam Mulligan, smashed his PB this morning with a cracking mirror on the bank, hitting the scales at 48lb on the nose !!!! 💥💥💥
To say he was happy is an understatement. Top angling Shane 🙌👍💪💯🎣
Will this one be hitting the magical big
“ 5️⃣ 0️⃣ “this year ????
Watch this space 😀
Who’s up next for knocking Shane off the top spot ???? Hopefully it’s
👉 YOU 👈 ‼️
With a difficult start to the week for the guys here, the weather has changed for the better and what an early morning result in not one but 2 forties on the bank in the space of a little over an hour. First on the bank at 10am was one of our new fish stocked in December 2018, a cracking mirror going to 43lb 8 oz and an hour later, SURVIVOR, out last year at its best weight of 41lb 8oz, now hitting the scales at 45lb 15 oz. 💯🙌🔥❤️🎣
Top angling Taz and what a winter feeding program result !!!!!
In December the lake was netted. The results were amazing!
We removed tons of silvers and pike to improve the biomass. The lake has an incredible stock with 2 known 60s and 25 plus 40s with the rest being mostly 30s and a few smaller but stunning scaley mirrors.
Been a busy winter. Here are a few photos of some of the work completed. The margins have been dug , some lillies removed and branches cut back to assist casting
Odd scale came out during the winter up in weight from last year by a pound. Looking good.
